SHOTRECIPE

Your photographs. Your privacy.

Effective September 6, 2026. ShotRecipe offers model-specific camera recipes. We do not request access to your camera, microphone, location or entire photo library. In version 1.1, Apple’s photo picker lets you choose an individual result photo.

Data on your device

Your chosen camera, saved recipes, favorites, setup progress, shooting notes and preferences are stored locally. Result photos you select are stored only on this device, are excluded from device backups and are not sent to our servers or included in ShotRecipe cloud backups. Your original image in Photos is unchanged. Removing the app removes this local library.

Optional Apple-linked backup

If you sign in with Apple, we store the identifier Apple provides and your library, including written shooting notes and exposure details, when you choose to back it up. Result photos are excluded. We do not request your name or email from Apple. Authentication sessions expire after 30 days. Your backup remains until you replace it or delete your account.

Usage analytics

If you enable Share usage analytics, we collect basic events such as opening the app, adapting or saving a look, and completing a purchase. Usage analytics is off by default. Events use a random installation identifier, with camera and look identifiers where relevant. We do not record screens or collect photographs. You can enable or turn off future analytics in Settings → Privacy. Events are retained for up to 90 days.

Service providers

Convex hosts account backups and analytics. Apple handles sign-in and subscription payments. We do not receive your payment card details. Providers may process data in other countries. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising tracking.

Deletion and control

In Settings → Account & cloud backup, choose Delete account & cloud backup to remove your account and server backup. Local recipes remain until you remove them or the app. Account deletion does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage subscriptions in App Store settings. For data questions, contact our support team at hey@trycarby.com and mention ShotRecipe. The same team operates Carby.

Support and policy updates

If you email us, we use your message and contact details to respond. This policy may change as ShotRecipe changes; the effective date appears above.
